Welcome!

BlueRibbon Coalition Kickin' Access Technology "KAT" Team!

You have been selectivly invited to join the elite internet army that we are building.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for getting involved with helping out with our access issues and adventures in this big world of internet technology and endless forums.

Having more eyes and ears is crucial for all of us to stay updated on what is going on. We decided to recruit a select few good men and women to help with the hundreds of websites that are out there in order to glean information, respond where neccessary and to promote the BlueRibbon Coalition's mission.

This blog is a place where you can submit your comments, thoughts, suggestions, and ideas.

This will also be a place to keep the rest of our "Team" up to date on what you've been posting and where BRC needs to respond directly in order to resolve misconceptions and misleading information.

We all know that what we do in the land use world can be a downhill spiral to burnout and frustration, let's support each other so we can all do our best to be effective; and please don't hesitate to contact BRC for any questions you may have as that is what they are there for.

Let's get rollin!!

  4. We're thinking of giving out to key team members the password and access stuff for this blog, so others can post up besides us. You guys would be on top of that list having access. What cha think?

  9. I'm doing just fine Del, in my past I use to work with D.C. & the U.N. those experiences seem to really help :)

I did start a dedicated blog page for Just Good Trails last night. This one My partner in crime @ JGTs Jim shares the access codes ect. to it.

  12. Guess I needed to start somewhere, so the BRC "kids" message went out to these two sites I frequent.

    http://www.californiapredatorsclub.com/
    http://www.putahcreekflyfishing.com/

Notice they are not ohv per say. Land use management decissions effect far more than just the ohv community. One of the above is a hunting site and the other is a fishing site. Not sure why but in the past I've received a lot more grief posting similar topics in the fishing sites versus the hunting ones.

    Blasted flyfishing snobs....oh wait...I flyfish...nevermind.

  16. CA folks will be asked to jump in on some key things here shortly, having to do with getting back out on the ground and getting more GPS info for these pending Wilderness issues.
This is one of those "technology" things that the KAT team will be perfect for. If we don't have them; I'm sure we can find the right folks who do (GPS). :)
    More soon,

  18. This may be old news for some, maybe not for others, but it's a good read. Plucked off of Moab Jeeper by a member of our club and passed along.

Rock Zombies 4x4 club form new rocksports competition team: OVRocksports

New team is dedicated to land-use issues and trail stewardship.

The Nor Cal Rock Zombies are proud to announce OV Rocksports, which is the new competition division of the club. The team consists of three vehicles, two competing in the Pro-Modified class and one in the Super-Modified class in the CalROCS series and other west coast rock crawling and racing events. Additionally, Dan Trout of Fishmouth-Fabworks will drive one of the team’s vehicles in the Last Chance Qualifier in the now-famous King of the Hammers race in Johnson Valley with team member Travis Carpenter as spotter.

What sets this new team apart from others is it’s commitment to land-use issues and trail stewardship. OV Rocksports has pledged it’s vehicles to be used by the Friends of Eldorado under that organization’s educational charter. Not only will all three rigs run Friends of Eldorado stickers, but the vehicles will be displayed at work-parties, at land use events and booths, and seen on Rock Zombie club runs educating OHV users about proper use and getting them involved in trail stewardship projects. Unlike other competition vehicles that sit in a garage in between events, these vehicles will be in the public eye nearly every weekend over the 2009 season. This means more exposure for the team’s sponsors. With the support of Fishmouth-Fabworks, the vehicles will be meticulously maintained to stay in working order throughout the 2009 season.

The Nor Cal Rock Zombies have been strong supporters of the Friends of Eldorado since its inception, showing up in force at work-parties and holding a now annual “Bikini Rig Wash” as a fund raiser for that organization. Rock Zombie founder Rob Cook explains, “It’s our goal to not only use this team to compete, but to inspire other teams and OHV users to become more active in keeping our trails open to the public. In the past, trail stewardship had been the domain of the older trail-rig crowd, it’s time the younger generation and the more extreme users step up to the plate.”

The Nor Cal Rock Zombies were formed in 2000, and have quickly set themselves apart from other clubs with their “extreme” style of four wheeling and their commitment to trail stewardship. The newly formed OV Rocksports is sponsored and supported by; Friends of Eldorado, Empulse Clothing, Power Tank, Marco Muffler, Loud Liquid, and Fishmouth-Fabworks. The team is still pursuing a title sponsor for the 2009 season.
